Bollywood films have always been an important part of our lives. And there are some movies which will always remain special for us. One such film is Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, without a doubt. We understood (maybe not) that ‘Pyaar dosti hai‘ (love is friendship), and even today, this dialogue remains as one of the most iconic ones. The 1998 release starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, and Rani Mukerji became a huge hit because of which, there is always some buzz around KKHH being remade.

Karan Johar, who made his directorial debut with the film, recently (finally) spoke about the actors he’d like to cast in the remake. Though the director made it clear that he wouldn’t revisit the film anything in the near future, he had a tentative cast in mind.

He said:

On my wish list would be Ranveer Singh as Rahul. He has the mad intensity of Shah Rukh Khan. I would cast Alia Bhatt as Anjali since she has the spunk and Janhvi Kapoor as Tina because she has the poise required for the part.

The filmmaker was at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) 2019 to celebrate his 20 years in the industry. A special segment was dedicated to KJo and he held a screening of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai there to celebrate his milestone.

At the event, Karan also spoke about narrating the film to Shah Rukh when he didn’t even have a script.

He recalled:

I remember going to meet him — I had no script whatsoever and had only a scene in my mind. I narrated it to Shah Rukh, telling him that if you like this scene, then I will narrate the entire film to you. That was obviously a lie.

Talking about the remake, we’d love to see Ranveer, Alia and Janhvi in the film. What do you think?
