In today’s time, given the attention star kids get because of the paparazzi culture, we see them almost everywhere on social media. So the obvious question most people have for them is when they are planning on making their Bollywood debut. While quite a few star kids like Ananya Panday, Sara Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor have taken the Bollywood route, seems like not all of them want to delve into acting.
One such celebrity kid is Aamir Khan‘s daughter, Ira Khan. The pretty girl is quite active on her social media and has been open about her personal life and her boyfriend which has got the internet interested in her. In an interview with Mid-Day, she reveals that she never really considered getting into the movies in the first place. Ira is in fact all set to make her directorial debut in theatre with the play, Medea, an ancient Greek tragedy.
Talking about her decision to foray into theatre, Ira says:
There’s no particular reason why I decided to start with theatre. I love the art form. It’s magical and all-consuming in its classical form, and in the world of technology. I love the suspension of disbelief that the audience allows for, thus offering the makers to express so much more.
What a fresh take, no? Always nice to see people engage with the arts and have a passion for it. Well, being Aamir Khan’s daughter, we sure do know she’ll be a perfectionist at whatever she takes on to do.
Talking about not really wanting to do movies and liking being behind the scenes, she says:
I have never considered acting. As far as directing more plays is concerned, I would have to find a story that I want to tell. I don’t have fondness for a specific genre. I’m not particularly into horror but other than that, I’m open to all sorts of stories.
As for Aamir’s son, Junaid Khan, he has also been a part of stage plays in the past. We can’t wait to see Ira don the director’s hat very soon! According to the report, the play is scheduled to open in December and is going to to be staged across the country.
