Arjun Rampal and Gabriella Demetriades became parents to a baby boy Arik Rampal last month and have since been hands-on parents to their bundle of joy. Gabriella was in the news, weeks after her delivery, for getting back to shape in no time. Read about it here. The South-African model recently opened up about motherhood and her little boy Arik in an interview with Mid-Day.

Talking about her pregnancy experience, and her weight loss story, she says that she never stopped working out. Well, that’s where the secret lies, guys. Imagine, she reveals that her water broke when she was playing tennis. Isn’t that the absolute dream pregnancy situation, like playing a game till the moment your water breaks, wow!

Here’s what she shared:

I lost 11 kg as I was leaving the hospital, as Arik was almost 5 kg. Since then, I have been breastfeeding, so I am not on any special diet, but I am eating healthy and nutritious food. I never stopped working out anyway. My water broke while I was playing tennis.

Talking about becoming a mother, she says:

I was never one of those people who thought of having a baby. I am actually the youngest of my friends, and we would have conversations such as ‘ok, is it time to have a baby yet?’. I would even look at people having babies, and think ‘I don’t know if I want to do this’. But it all happened very organically, and it may sound like a cliche now, but it’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me. I used to think I was in love [with Rampal], but then Arik happened…

Arjun is already a father to two teenage girls, Maahika and Myra Rampal, with his ex-wife Mehr Jesia. When asked about how the girls reacted to the baby, Gabriella shared with the publication that they were absolutely thrilled and can’t get enough of him.

She said:

They love him. I see the relationship they have with Arjun, and it’s one of respect but they are friends too. I wish to have the same one with Arik when he grows up.

That is so sweet, right?!
