Last month (August) Pusarla Venkata Sindhu created history when she became the first Indian to win the World Championships title. The badminton champion made us all proud and we definitely wanted to know more about PV Sindhu. Back in 2017, Sonu Sood had announced about producing a biopic on her. And after her recent win, Sonu said that he has got the perfect climax to the film.
Talking about the same in an interaction with Hindustan Times, Sindhu shared that she was aware of it but is yet to know more.
She said:
Yes, he told me. But I could only speak to him for a few minutes. He is travelling… So I’m yet to find out more about it. All I can say is that the film is in safe hands and I am sure he will do whatever is best for the film. He has my support.
When asked about which actress does she think fits her role the best, she didn’t hesitate to take Deepika Padukone‘s name.
Sindhu said:
I would definitely want Deepika Padukone to play the character. She has played the game and is a good actor too. But then, the makers would take the final decision.
Deepika, who is former badminton player, Prakash Padukone‘s daughter, has also played badminton in national level championships. We really hope this works out because we’d love to see Deepika as Sindhu in the biopic.
