Outsider or not, you have to prove yourself to sustain in the Bollywood industry. There’s no denying that if you know people in the industry, it is easy to get through. But eventually, it’s your talent that’ll take you forward. Manoj Bajpayee, who has been a part of the industry for over two decades, still believes that it is extremely difficult for an outsider in Bollywood.

In an interview with IANS, the Padma Shri Awardee said that ‘gangs and groups’ in Bollywood expect everyone to be in their good books.

He said:

It’s an impossible industry for outsiders and if you are a girl trying to get in from outside then it is all the more impossible. There are gangs and groups here, and they expect you to be in their good books all the time, whether they give you work or not.

Not only that, but the actor also said that it’s an impossible industry for people who believe in the ability and hard work. The reason the actor mentions this is because when he entered the industry it was the time of commercial cinema.

He shared:

When I entered Hindi films, it was very difficult (because) conventional, commercial and formula films were really ruling the roost (at that time). Coming here and travelling so many years, and having a little bit name for yourself is quite a miracle. That is why I say it is quite an impossible industry.

Manoj Bajpayee will soon be seen in the Amazon Original Series, The Family Man.
