Our Desi Girl, Priyanka Chopra is one actress who has had such a huge impact on the global scale and has certainly put India on the map when it comes to a lot of things. While I sure am proud of her for all that she’s doing, I really did miss seeing her in Bollywood films. PC was always on a league of her own, and one of the best actresses we have had.
Now, what if I told you that she is all set to star in a Hindi film with none other than our current fav, Rajkummar Rao?! Yes. According to a report in IANS, PC and Rajkummar are all set to star in the Netflix‘s upcoming film, The White Tiger. Directed by Ramin Bahrani, the film will also feature debutante Adarsh Gourav. Based on author Aravind Adiga‘s booker-prize winning novel of the same name, this story is about the journey of a humble tea-shop owner in a village who finds success as an entrepreneur in the big city.
Talking to IANS, Priyanka said:
I’m so excited to work with Ramin Bahrani and Netflix to bring Aravind Adiga’s poignant story to cinematic life. When I read the book, I was fascinated with the perspective of the narrative. The story’s portrayal of raw ambition and the extent one will go to to achieve one’s goals is riveting. I look forward to filming this in India this fall, and also working along with Rajkummar for the first time and the wonderful cast Ramin is putting together.
Adding to this, Rajkummar shared:
It’s an exciting time for actors today and I’m thrilled to be a part of such a world-class project. I’ve been an admirer of Ramin’s work and am excited to see The White Tiger come to life.
Speaking about the film, the director – Mr Bahrani – says that he wanted to make this film for the past decade and is excited to see it come to life now. Apart from acting in the film, PC will also don the hat of the executive producer on the film.
We sure are super excited to see PC and Rajkummar come together for the first time!
