First impressions aren’t always the best impressions, right? Sometimes, we can be completely wrong about the person in the first instance, but they could end up becoming an important part of your life later. Well, seems like that was sort of the case with lovebirds Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput Kapoor. The two met through their families and got married soon after.
But ask them what they thought of each other on their very first meeting and it wasn’t a love at first sight situation at all. In an interview with Vogue recently, Shahid spoke about his first meeting with Mira and Shahid had the most unexpected thought in his mind, now that we all think of it!
Here’s what he said:
Here we are, sitting in this room on these two big sofas with nobody else around.. Are we even going to last 15 minutes?
Wow, thank god they did, because they ended up speaking for seven hours straight after that.
Adding to that, Mira shared with the publication that the fact that she wasn’t really into Bollywood made it even better because she wasn’t starstruck or fangirling over Shahid, but interacted with him for the real person he is. Shahid even shared how he was in his drug maniac look for Udta Punjab at that time, and that Mira was quite apprehensive about that in the first meeting, and it is rather cute and funny.
He shared:
We sat together on a sofa and somewhere around the interval she had moved five feet away to the other edge. She looked at me and said, ‘You’re not this guy, right? Is this guy anywhere inside you? Tell me now while I can still walk away!’
The couple soon got married in 2014, and have been one of the most loved Bollywood couples since. They are even parents to two cute babies – three-year-old Misha Kapoor and one-year-old Zain Kapoor – and make for one cute family!
