Life is precious, life is priceless! We come across such ‘life’ quotes so many times in a day, don’t we? But how many times do we actually pause, read it and understand what it is trying to tell us? Every year, we recognise 10th September as World Suicide Prevention Day. WHO released the gut-wrenching research which said that every 40 seconds, there’s at least 1 person who commits suicide and there is a suicide attempt every 3 seconds. As you’re reading this article, all of this is happening around the world. So where are we going wrong? Why has the world come to this and why are the numbers so high?

We need to normalise having mental health issues and help people going through rough times feel comfortable and speak up about it. We may not be able to help the circumstances that drive people suicidal but there is a lot we can do to help them come out of it. And this video released by Yuvaa is exactly what people in need for mental support need to hear, especially the younger generations. Featuring Ratna Pathak Shah, Gajraj Rao, Sheeba Chaddha, Kumud Mishra, Shishir Sharma, and Ayesha Raza Mishra, this video will make you want to hug your kids and parents and remind them how important they are to you! You can watch the video below.

The next time you feel someone hasn’t been as chirpy, as calm or just ‘themselves’, approach them without any judgement and talk to them. If they’re in a bad place, you can help them by just being there for them. And if you feel the situation has become serious, you can reach out to helplines or any professional help. Because, if we don’t help each other out and be empathetic, who else will? Let’s spread some love!
