9 Hilarious Moments From ‘The Office’ That Will Never Get Old

Dhruvi Modi

It’s no surprise that The Office is a cult classic 00s’  TV show with a following probably the size of a small European country. This TV Show is so addictive that Billie Eilish wrote a whole song about it. The famous workplace mockumentary-style comedy show ran from 2005–2013 on NBC and starred iconic legends such as Steve Carell, Rainn Wilson, and Jenna Fischer, to name a few, and rocketed their careers to a whole other level.

Whenever I think about The Office, I can’t help but remember all the uber hilarious moments that made me laugh really, really hard. Hence, I compiled some of my absolute favourites for your viewing pleasure, so you can LOL with me as well.

1. The Carpet, Season 2, Episode 14

When someone places a huge lump of, well, faeces on Michael’s carpet in his cabin, he is absolutely horrified. He takes over Jim‘s desk, bullies the accounting department, and labels this action as a ‘hate crime’. My favourite part is where he states that Stanley Hudson, an African American salesperson, knows what he’s talking about (referring to him growing up in a marginalised community). This incredulous comparison makes me LOL each time I watch it.

2. Dwight’s Speech, Season 2, Episode 17

When Dwight has to give a speech for winning Salesperson of the Year, he is a nervous wreck. Jim takes this opportunity to prank Dwight by giving him some key points to practice. The only thing is, the speeches he gives to Dwight are inspired by some of history’s most notorious dictators such as Mussolini.

3. The Injury, Season 2, Episode 12

When Michael steps on his George Foreman grill and grills his foot, he makes a bigger deal out of the situation than is. When the office doesn’t seem to sympathise with him, he goes to great lengths to feel pampered.

4. Fun Run, Season 4, Episode 2

A tragic accident sees Meredith being checked into a hospital where she learns that she is almost diagnosed with rabies. Naturally, Micheal is ridden with guilt. So, he goes the extra mile (literally) and sets up a ‘Michael Scott’s Dunder Mifflin Scranton Meredith Palmer Memorial Celebrity Rabies Awareness Pro-Am Fun Run Race For The Cure’. Before the run begins, he downs an entire plate of pasta alfredo and refuses to drink water throughout.

5. Dinner Party, Season 4, Episode 13

When Jan and Michael host Jim, Pam, Andy and Angela at their condo for dinner, things don’t quite go as planned. The passive-aggressiveness between Jan and Michael ensures that the mood is palpably tense and uncomfortable. Slowly, this evolves into slamming of Dundies into TVs, and the police showing up at the front door. Michael, in particular, is distraught by the toll that the three vasectomies he’s had have taken on him.

6. Niagara, Season 6, Episode 5

When the entire office takes a trip to Niagara Falls to celebrate Jim and Pam‘s wedding, things don’t go quite as planned.

7. The Surplus, Season 5, Episode 10

When the office has to spend the yearly surplus of $4,300 by the end of the day, everyone has a different opinion on how. As we all know, Michael and Toby share a very special relationship. Hence, when the latter advises Michael on how to spend the money, here’s what happens.

8. Moroccan Christmas, Season 5, Episode 11

When Phyllis plans a Moroccan themed Christmas party at the office, things go awry when Meredith drinks a little too much and her hair catches on fire. Michael decides to take matters into his hands and plans an intervention for her right then and there. He takes Meredith to a rehab centre despite her protests, and here’s a glimpse.
