‘I Try My Best To Not Let Criticism Get To Me’ — Shraddha Kapoor

Shubanka Sridhar

Shraddha Kapoor has been seen on the big screen not once, but twice in the past few weeks. First in the magnum opus, Saaho, opposite South-Indian actor Prabhas. The movie might have not fared well with the critics, but was a major box-office success. Next, she was seen in Chhichhore, alongside an ensemble cast consisting of Sushant Singh Rajput and Varun Sharma among others. The movie is winning hearts everywhere and been is being touted as a commercial and critical success. Speaking to PTI about the varied responses both her films got, Shraddha says that as an actor she should be able to face both success and criticism and not let either one of them get to her.

She says:

As an actor, you will always face criticism, even if there are hits. Saaho has become a mass entertainer and people are loving it even if the initial reviews were not great, there will always be criticism for the work I do. I try my best not to let it get to me. And as for Chhichhore, I’m over the moon for the responses we got from everyone. I choose projects depending on how well I can connect to the roles and Chhichhore was no exception. I’m really glad that I got on board with the movie.

Well, it’s just about that right, doing roles that you connect with.

Well, this is not it. Shraddha has Remo D’ Souza’s Street Dancer 3D, which she just wrapped, alongside Varun Dhawan and Nora Fatehi. She also has Baaghi 3 opposite Tiger Shroff in the pipeline.

Talking about Street Dancer, she said:

We have put our heart and soul into making Street Dancer with countless hours of training and practice. I loved working on ABCD 2 and Street Dancer takes it one step ahead.

We can’t wait to see Shraddha in these films soon!
