Shahid Kapoor‘s Kabir Singh is probably one of the most controversial films of 2019. It raked in big moolah at the Box Office, established Shahid (yet again) as a great performer and also put him in the centre of a controversy where he is defending his stance, even three months later.

The movie ran across theatres for more than two months, during which Shahid kept mum about all the negative comments. Later, Sasha rightfully questioned the haters why nobody created the same noise when Ranbir Kapoor claimed to have 308 girlfriends in Sanju. At a recently held India Today conclave, Shahid defended his film yet again, with more reel life references.

Kabir doesn’t know how to handle himself. Every Kabir needs a Preity in his life. No one brought up Baazigar, when SRK kills Shilpa Shetty. No one said anything about putting a commode seat on Sonam Kapoor’s neck in Sanju. Sab Kabir Singh ke peeche kyun pade hain? (Why is everybody after Kabir Singh?)

He further said that the film is for adults who can distinguish between right and wrong.

Are you telling me that Mr Bachchan is someone who taught people to be a thief? You know you’re going to watch a movie right, it’s fiction right?
