Yesterday witnessed one of the most picturesque runway shows in the history of fashion. Dior Spring-Summer 2020 for Paris Fashion Week 2019, was a visual treat tied to a great cause. Creative Director, Maria Grazia Chiuri pulled off a nature-inspired collection keeping the climate crisis in mind and the show took place at the Paris-Longchamp hippodrome, in the fashion capital. With models dressed in gorgeous, floral-embellished dresses, straw hats and applique work seen on jumpsuits and outwear, the collection was all things dreamy. While the models walked through a forest-themed runway, the front-row was graced with Hollywood A-listers and our very own globetrotter and global dominator, Deepika Padukone. And oh boy! This glamazon goddess looked like a million bucks!
Pulling off a Parisian chic look in head-to-toe Dior couture, Deepika nailed her debut at PFW 2019. Styled by none other than Shaleena Nathani, the look was rounded off with layered necklaces from Misho Designs and killer knee-high mesh boots. And of course, no Parisian look would be complete without a hair accessory and a shrobed jacket or trench.
Padukone’s strapless maxi featured prints inspired from Africa in hues of brown, bottle green and pops of muted yellow which was a part of the Dior Cruise collection with an over-sized bow. What I loved was how everything complemented each other—whether it was the pouffe bun, dewy skin or the classic winged eyeliner, her glam game was noteworthy too.
