Veteran actor Viju Khote passed away today at his home in Mumbai due to multiple organ failure at age 77. He was best known for his roles in films like Sholay and Andaz Apna Apna.

If you are a Bollywood film lover (or even not), you are bound to be familiar with the name ‘Kaalia‘. How can we ever forget his dialogue in the film, “Sardar maine aapka namak khaya hai.” From playing that to being the absolutely funny Robert in Andaaz Apna Apna, he was one versatile actor. He also starred in television shows like Zabaan Sambhalke which was telecast in 1993, which he is still remembered for. Theatre enthusiasts also remember him for all his work in Marathi theatre through the years.

In recent times, he was seen in films like Golmaal 3, Club 60 etc. His friends and colleagues from the industry, like Rishi Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit and Suniel Shetty sent in their condolences.

We deeply mourn the loss of a talented and veteran actor like Viju Khote and wish his family all the strength.
