Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra got married last year in a lavish ceremony at the Umaid Bhawan palace in Jodhpur. Although the #Nickyanka wedding was an extremely private affair, the couple later released a bunch of pictures to an international magazine. And oh boy! Each and every frame was so stunning and straight out of a Bollywood movie, which is only apt for our desi girl.
Indian weddings require a whole lot of preparation and any number of helping hands are not enough. Assistance from anyone and everyone is most welcome, even if it’s the dulha himself. PeeCee was recently on the sets of The Kapil Sharma Show to promote her upcoming film, The Sky Is Pink where she narrated an incident from her big, fat, desi wedding:
They (groom’s side) flew down to India 10 days before the wedding to help with the preparations so that I could fulfil work commitments. In fact, Nick even fetched cylinders at one time.
Priyanka also revealed a funny incident from the couple’s Jaimala ceremony where her brother lifted her, as per an old tradition. Nick’s family felt they had to act too and therefore, picked him up and started pushing in.
Indian weddings are so much fun anyway. We bet the amalgamation of two cultures at the #Nickyanka wedding would have been an even more joyous occasion.
