A question frequently asked by every girl to every hairstylist possible;”What can I do to reduce the damage to my hair?” To which the “answer” that’s most commonly a follow-up question would be; “Do you use a heat protectant?”. Shockingly a large number of people don’t use any kind of heat protection before they style their hair, even though research (aka the health of your hair) shows that it’s actually a necessary step.
While sometimes it isn’t feasible to stay away from colour dyes, hair irons and other styling tools, having a good heat protectant in your corner, and on your head can ensure less damage. Because of the harmful heat and other factors that can dry out your hair like the UV rays of the sun, a physical barrier like a spray can help protect your hair and keep it healthy and soft. So scroll below as Bollywood’s finest hairstylist spill the tea on their go-to favourites:
It’s argan oil-infused but so light that you’ll never have to worry about build-up on the hair. It hydrates the hair rather than coating it.
I like this spray because it has oils mixed in it which protects and conditions hair too.
I really like Oribé products because they don’t make the hair heavy and weigh it down.
I genuinely feel it’s protects the from getting damaged and avoids the hair from splitting over a period of time. I have frizzy hair so it helps control frizz and leaves the hair feeling super soft and shiny! I also use the Kérastase Nectar Thermique as a leave in when I’m not styling as it protects my hair from the sun.
I love the Ouai Memory Mist heat protectant. It is heat activated, protects hair from heat damage, very light and doesn’t weigh the hair down. Even the Nectar Thermique from Kérastase, it’s cream based and amazing for someone who blow dries their hair everyday and if the hair is too sensitised.
