After his stellar performance in Gully Boy, we have been waiting for what Ranveer Singh has up his sleeve next. We knew that the superstar has been prepping and working on his next film, the Kapil Dev biopic that traces the iconic first World Cup win of the Indian cricket team against West Indies. The film is called ’83. The team wrapped up the movie and recently we saw all of them partying it out at the wrap-up party hosted by Ranveer’s Mrs, Deepika Padukone. Now, the director of the movie Kabir Khan Revealed that Ranveer had got pretty emotional after the final scene.
Talking about it, he said:
We shot for five days at the Lord’s stadium in London, entering the members-only Long Room where no camera had ventured before, the dressing rooms and locker rooms, then, stepped out on the balcony where the World Cup was presented to Kapil sir. And guess what? They brought out the real World Cup for Ranveer too. Overwhelmed, he broke down when I shouted “Cut”.
How amazing is that?
The film also features Deepika Padukone who will be seen essaying the role of Romi Dev, Kapil Dev’s wife. While RS will play Kapil Dev, Tahir Raj Bhasin will be seen as Sunil Gavaskar, Saqib Saleem as Mohinder Amarnath, Chirag Patil as Sandeep Patil.
