Chennai Express has been one of the landmark films in Deepika Padukone‘s career. The film managed to establish her standing amongst the leading ladies of the country which the actress still holds. While the film was one of the highest grossers of 2013, Deepika who was recently present for an event made a revelation which managed to surprise us.

While talking at the event, the actress spoke about how her Chennai Express co-star Shah Rukh Khan and director Rohit Shetty were not happy with her. While shooting for the nightmare scene, the actress revealed that on the day of the shoot her energy was completely off. Deepika also added that while SRK and Rohit were figuring out how to make the scene work she further stated that comedy scenes are tricky and they have to be spontaneous.

The actress mentioned,

One can’t prepare for scenes like these. It just happens spontaneously. But at the end of the day whatever you do with conviction becomes honest.

When she was further questioned about the film  having a sequel, Deepika said,

I’ve been after Rohit (Rohit Shetty) to take Meenamma forward. If something comes along, I will happily do it.

On the work front, Deepika recently shot for Kabir Khan‘s ’83 where the actress will be seen essaying the role of Romi Dev while her husband Ranveer Singh will be seen playing Kapil Dev. The actress has also shot for Meghna Gulzar‘s Chhapaak which is based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal and stars Vikrant Massey opposite her.

Coming back to Chennai Express, now that the film has managed to garner so much love from the masses, we are sure that both SRK and Rohit will be super proud of Deepika just like we are!
