Shahid Kapoor's Next Film 'Jersey' To Hit The Screens In August 2020

Shahid Kapoor got the nation roaring for him after he starred in the Hindi remake of Arjun Reddy. The film which was titled, Kabir Singh starred Kiara Advani opposite Sasha and it not only managed to earn a lot of moolah but also impressed the masses. After the success of this Sandeep Vanga Reddy‘s directorial, fans were waiting to witness Shahid’s next film and now the wait is over. After giving us a blockbuster this year, Shahid is all set to star in yet another remake which will hit the screens next year in August.

Titled Jersey, the film is an official Hindi remake of a Telugu film with the same name. Gowtam Tinnanuri who helmed the Telugu film will make his Bollywood directorial debut with this one. The flick is a sports drama which will be showcasing the life of a cricketer in his late thirties and after the success of Kabir Singh, Shahid seems to be a perfect fit for this one.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the news on social media and wrote,

While the film will also showcase a father-son relationship, we are looking forward to seeing who will essay the role of Shahid’s son in this one.

Gowtam spoke to IANS about casting Shahid for Jersey and said,

I’m really looking forward to remaking my film Jersey in Hindi and taking it to national audiences and there is no one better than Shahid Kapoor to recreate the magic of the original for Hindi audiences.

Shahid manages to mould himself into every character he essays on the 70 mm and we for sure can’t wait to witness this one. August 2020, please come soon!
