After Luka Chuppi, Kriti Sanon will be seen next in Housefull 4 along with an ensemble star cast consisting of Akshay Kumar, Bobby Deol, Riteish Deshmukh, Pooja Hegde and Kriti Kharbanda. A few days ago, the makers released the song ‘Ek Chumma‘ from the film which received a lot of backlash for being regressive and sexist.

Now in an interview with Mid-Day, Kriti defended the song saying she would have certainly raised her voice had the song been disrespectful towards women.

Here’s what she said:

How is it regressive? The boys are saying those lines to their partner, not to a stranger. If ‘Ek Chumma‘ was disrespectful towards women, I would have spoken up. In Tareefan (from Veere Di Wedding), why was it not pointed that male models were being treated the way mainstream treats female models?

She further shared that many people asked her why the woman was being put down in the lyrics of her song Coca Cola from Luka Chuppi, when her character was saying the same lines to the man.

How is it okay for a guy to be teased, but there’s so much talk when a girl is being teased?

Kriti sure makes a fair point. What do you guys have to say about this?
