Bollywood films have always entertained us. But at times they also leave a message behind and the time you leave the theatre, they manage to make you think. While most of the times it is positive and the audience takes it in the right sense, at times this message can be wrongly interpreted. Similar has happened recently after TikTok star Johnny Dada aka Ashwani Kumar murdered a flight attendant who he was obsessed with. Known as the TikTok Villain for his angry videos, Kumar was obsessed with Shahid Kapoor starrer Kabir Singh which hit the screens this year and kept mimicking its dialogues. The Sandeep Vanga Reddy directorial also garnered mixed review due to its screenplay and this is yet another controversy for the film. Sandeep recently spoke to Midday about his thoughts and offered his condolences to the family.

Sandeep said,

I feel sorry for the girl and her family. It is unfortunate that people have lost their lives. As filmmakers, we are responsible for our craft and need to consider the repercussions, but never have my films [endorsed] killing anyone. Kabir Singh or even Arjun Reddy [the Telugu original] never [supported] murder.

He further added,

The man in question seems to have some psychological issue. Such people often look up to Bollywood celebrities, sportsperson or politicians. If you see Shahid’s character in the film, he is a self-destructive person who is harming himself more than anyone else.

We really hope that the masses differentiate between the reel and real-world and such incidences never take place again.
