Saif Ali Khan is one of the actors who has managed to carve a niche for himself. With every project, Saif has been pushing the boundaries making sure that he emerges victorious. While Sacred Games and Laal Kaptaan are the perfect examples of the same, a recent report in Midday states that the actor next will be seen essaying the role of a soldier. The actor is in talks with national award filmmaker Vinod Kapri for a survival drama, reported the tabloid.

A source revealed,

The story is inspired by true events where a soldier had separated from his regiment in a jungle. The film is a gritty take on how the protagonist manages to navigate his way in the jungle and survives the rough terrain.

Apart from this project, the actor has his bag filled with interesting scripts. After Navdeep Singh’s Laal Kaptaan which hits the screens today, the actor will be seen in Ali Abbas Zafar‘s directorial, Tandav. The web series is a political drama and Saif will be essaying a lead role. Saif will also be seen essaying the role of a villain opposite Ajay Devgn in Taanaji. Talking about essaying the role of Udaybhan Rathod, a Rajput military man in Aurangzeb’s army, who fought against Tanaji Malusare, he had earlier revealed that he had to read the book Sinhgad: The Astonishing Escalade of Tanaji and His 300 Marathas.

I’m going by the written word. A chunk of the research has been done by Om, who has done a thorough job. Since it is an action-packed film, I was required to look leaner. I had to be adept in horse riding. The fact that I was coming straight off Navdeep’s [Singh] film made it a tad easier. The physical prep has been rigorous for this film.

Coming back to the solider tale, we cannot wait to watch it on the 70 mm!
