Amitabh Bachchan greeting fans
Amitabh Bachchan greeting fans

For those acquainted with the star power and fan following Amitabh Bachchan enjoys, you’ll know that every Sunday of the year, he has a huge crowd of fans from all over come to catch a glimpse of him outside his house. It is now a ritual that he follows religiously, too. Whatever be the case, if he is at home on a Sunday, he makes sure to come out and greet his fans.

But this Sunday, he had to unfortunately skip. Sr Bachchan’s health has been reported to be a little shakey over the past couple of days and while he is recuperating, he took to Twitter to apologise to his fans waiting outside his gate for not coming out to meet them. He wrote that he is recovering and getting better, and so couldn’t come out to meet them and shared pictures from outside his residence, Jalsa.

Here’s his tweet:

Isn’t it so sweet to see the kind of relationship and bond the senior actor shares with his fans.

In the past week, it was reported that Big B was admitted to the hospital following some complications in his liver. But, these reports were bashed by sources from his popular quiz show, Kaun Banega Crorepati, who told IANS that he was not admitted in the hospital in the first place.

Here is their statement:

He is fit and fine, hale and hearty. He is not in the hospital currently. It is nothing major or serious. He had gone for a regular check-up where someone spotted him and stories about him being admitted to the hospital started doing the rounds.

Big B also took to his blog and asked people to stop speculating about his health as it is a very private and personal issue to deal with.

Check out his statement:

Do NOT break the CODE of professional documentation.. Ailments and medical conditions are a confidential individual right .. its exploitation, and its attempted commerce are a social illegality .. respect and give required understanding to this .. all is not in the world of sale.. My love .. and my gratitude for all.

We certainly agree with Mr. Bachchan and pray for his good health at all times.
