Deepika Padukone has always been one person whose film choices have left us excited. Be it her next one, Chhapaak or her small but powerful role opposite her husband, Ranveer Singh, in ’83, these are all some super exciting roles. She has wrapped up with both the films and if reports are to be believed, DP has signed on her next film.
According to a report on Bollywood Bubble, Deepika has signed on the dotted line and is all set to star in this Dharma Production film directed by the Kapoor & Sons director, Shakun Batra. While she was at the Jio MAMI Movie Mela With Star recently, in conversation with Rajeev Masand and Anupama Chopra, she revealed that she is all set to sign on a romantic film next.
She had said:
I have found a film that I am likely to do early next year but it’s not light. It’s still a messy romance, it’s quite dark but still in the romantic space.
Seems like this Shakun Batra directorial is what she was hinting at. The article says that DP has greenlighted the project and that it will go on floors once her film, Chhapaak releases on January 2020.
We recently also learnt that Deepika is all set to join hands with her Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani co-star, Ranbir Kapoor, for Luv Ranjan‘s next directorial. With the kind of popularity the couple enjoy, we sure are super excited to learn more about this film as well.
The next year is definitely looking quite exciting for the Piku actress and we can’t wait to see her on-screen very soon!
