Isha Koppikar made her debut in Bollywood with Hrithik Roshan & Karisma Kapoor starrer, Fiza. She went on to star in several films later and also made her presence felt in Tamil and Telugu cinema. The actress is now fulfilling mommy duties for her 5-year old daughter, Rianna along with managing her career.
Recently, in an interview with Pinkvilla, the actress recalled an incident where she faced casting couch with a producer. He reportedly told Isha to call a particular actor in order to be in his good books, who in turn, asked her to meet him alone.
I immediately called up the producer and told him that he should cast me for my talent. But then, I can’t be forced into doing all these things for a role. That is what is intimidating for a lot of people. When a woman says no, they can’t take it. And temporarily, you’re written off. I never ended up working with that actor.
It’s awfully sad that Isha had to go through such a traumatic phase. But we are glad she stood her ground and handled her career with dignity. More power to you, Isha!
