The nightingale of India – Lata Mangeshkar gave us quite a scare when she was hospitalized due to breathing difficulties she was facing. But it’s good news that while she is still in the hospital, she is slowly recovering according to reports in PTI. Lataji who turned 90 in September this year was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital. Earlier, a statement from her team suggested that her vitals are stable.
It said:
Her parameters are good. Honestly speaking, she has fought so well that she is coming out of this setback. Being a singer, her lung capacity has pulled her through. Truly a fighter. We will update everyone when Lata ji gets discharged and comes home. (We) request that we give family the space they deserve at the moment.
On Monday, the veteran singer’s sister Usha Mangeshkar also revealed that Lataji had fallen ill due to a viral chest infection. And while they could have treated her at home, they chose to take her to the hospital because it was closeby and also the treatment would be thorough. Her other sister, Asha Bhosle was also snapped visiting her at the hospital. We’re glad that Lataji is doing much better and is on her way to recovery.
