Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar is making her Bollywood debut opposite Akshay Kumar in Prithviraj. The film which is backed by YRF will be directed by Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi who has directed the biggest television epic Chanakya and Pinjar. In a recent interview with IANS, Manushi spoke about making her Bollywood debut and revealed that she gave her first shot for the film on the same day she had won Miss World two years back.
Manushi said,
It is really a beautiful coincidence that I gave my first shot for ‘Prithviraj’ on the same day that I had won Miss World two years back. November 18 is definitely one of the most special days of my life and I’m thrilled that two of my life’s biggest milestones fall on the same day. Giving the first shot for my debut film was simply surreal.
She also added that she will have to put in a lot of hard work to prove herself as an actor.
I know I have a lot of hard work to do to prove myself as an actor and I’m prepared to do just that. I wish the universe showers the film and me with tons of good luck.
Talking about Manushi, Dwivedi had said in an earlier interview,
We auditioned a lot of young, fresh faces for the role because we were looking for a stunningly gorgeous Indian heroine. While Sanyogita was an incredibly beautiful person, she was also a strong, confident girl. We were looking to find someone who could match the magnetic persona of Sanyogita and we found that in Manushi. She auditioned for the role a couple of times because we wanted to be dead sure with this casting and she nailed it each time. She has been rehearsing six days a week since then and she is being thoroughly groomed for the last 9 months by YRF.
We cannot wait to watch Manushi essaying the role of Sanyogita, Prithiviraj’s love of life. We are so excited.
