Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior is about the brave warrior Tanaji Malusare, who valiantly fought against the Mughal Empire in the Battle of Sinhagad in 1670. But, he wasn’t given his due credit then. Now, this film is a fitting tribute to his glory, as well as Ajay Devgn‘s 100th film, that makes it extra special for him.
Ajay plays the military leader of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s army who locks horns with his arch-nemesis, Udaybhan, played by Saif Ali Khan. Sharad Kelkar is playing Shivaji Maharaj, while Kajol will be seen sharing screen space with husband Ajay as she plays his wife, Savitribhai. The film is directed by Om Raut.
We are absolutely loving the looks of all these characters and super excited to see these stars completely transport us to the time of the Marathas and Mughals. The special effects and art direction mimic 17th-century sensibilities and make it look oh-so-authentic and grand. And watching that in 3D is going to make it one hell of an experience. The music and background score of the film is also something we are looking forward to as it has put us in the mood for some major war drama.
We surely cannot wait for January 10th now and are super excited to witness this surgical strike by the Maratha army that shook the Mughal empire entirely.
