If you haven’t completely fallen in love with Camila Mendes on CW’s hit show, Riverdale, you’re definitely missing out on some fierce girl-powered action. Camila plays a strong, competitive and career-driven high-school Latino girl on the show, and in reality, she’s exactly that! Which is why we’re instantly so drawn to her.
Making her appearance on Vogue‘s Beauty Secrets’ series, Camila made it evident that she’s literally like us when it comes to doing her makeup. Whatever she’s learnt when it comes to makeup has been through filming and working with some of the best makeup artists in the biz. But for this Latino, prepping the skin with the right products is what she truly stresses on after foundation-filled shooting days.
From her skin prep with products recommended to her by designer Prabal Gurung to hacking an eyeliner look by applying brown shadow to her bottom lashline—we have a lot to learn from Camila, including a genius trick to conceal a pimple!
Here’s rounding up what she did:
- Using a liquid concealer to hide the pimple—but didn’t blend it.
She does this so that the product can properly seep into the inflamed area but warming it up first. - Once she was done with most of her makeup steps, she goes in to blend it with a beauty blender.
- Upon another application of concealer, the pimple gives off a sheen and shine as it is slightly raised and reflects light off the head.
- Taking a dot of translucent powder, she dabs and blends it out—concealing the pimple!
