Kartik Aaryan has fast become one of the most popular actors on the block. From being the ‘Punchnama Boy’ to creating a wave with the audiences with films like Lukka Chuppi and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, he has grown and how. Now, he has signed some very interesting and varied projects in the coming year.
Today, though he is getting to choose a horror-comedy film like Bhool Bhulaiyya 2 as well as a romantic drama like Aaj Kal, Kartik says that that wasn’t always the case.
Speaking to PTI, he says:
The offers haven’t stopped coming since ‘Luka Chuppi’. Earlier whatever I was offered, I had to choose from that. Today, there are so many options that I feel like doing everything.
Well, can we blame him now? The actor has garnered so much love from the audiences today and says that in the beginning, he was only known as the ‘Punchnama boy’ or the monologue guy, but now, people relate to his characters like Sonu and Guddu and he says they feel like he is one of them.
He elaborates:
I wasn’t a household name. I was known by my character’s name or the guy who spoke very fast. But they weren’t able to register ‘Kartik’ in their minds. Sonu’ brought me in the commercial actor zone, everyone’s perspective changed after that.
Speaking about his life now, post this stardom he has achieved with back-to-back hits, Kartik says that not having the time has made people think he has changed. He adds that previously, he had the time to go out and spend time with people, but now, ‘even 24 hours feels less’. But he loves being busy and constantly juggling shoots and promotions.
Kartik will next be seen in the Imtiaz Ali film Aaj Kal alongside Sara Ali Khan. He has also signed Bhool Bhulaiyya 2 as well as Dharma Production‘s sequel to Dostana.
