Veteran actress Waheeda Rehman is one of the most respected stars in Bollywood who has been entertaining us with her stellar performances on the big screen for over 60 years now. But Waheeda ji has proven that she’s more than an actor, she’s an inspiration. While she hasn’t given up on acting, she’s pursuing something that was her passion for the longest time. Waheeda ji is currently into wildlife photography and took lessons for it from a professional photographer. But the veteran actress revealed that this passion is not newfound at all. In fact, in an interview with Mid-Day, she said that when she was younger she used to turn up on sets with a small camera.
Talking about photography and her love for it, she said:
I have always loved taking pictures. When I was young, I would carry a small camera with me on the sets.When it comes to wildlife photography, you need to have luck and patience. Earlier, we didn’t have any school or teacher to learn photography, so I used to do it in a haphazard manner. But after I retired, I had enough time to learn and pay attention to the art.
She further added that she was able to travel the world for her passion:
I have been taking pictures for a long time but not without learning properly. I have learnt it from Himanshuu Sheth. We have travelled across India, Tanzania, Namibia, Maasai Mara (Kenya), Arunachal Pradesh and Assam to take these pictures.
In a recent interview with Twinkle Khanna, she also revealed what the next thing on her bucket list is and we’re in awe of her. When asked the question, Waheeda ji is quick to say scuba diving. When Twinkle asked her, At 81? Pat came her reply saying, “So what?” We absolutely love Waheeda ji for this.
