A few days ago, YRF announced their long anticipated project, i.e the sequel to their hit film, Bunty Aur Babli. Siddhant Chaturvedi of Gully Boy fame and newcomer Sharvari will be taking forward the story of our favourite con artists and we can’t wait to watch what they have in store for us.
Apart from Siddhant and Sharvari, Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukherji will also co-star in the film as the older Bunty and Babli respectively. Although we were happy to see the Hum Tum and Ta Ra Rum Pum jodi reuniting on screen after so many years, we wondered about the absence of the OG Bunty, Abhishek Bachchan.
Rani came forward to answer the question on everyone’s mind:
Abhishek and I were both approached by YRF to reprise our roles as the originals in Bunty Aur Babli 2 but, unfortunately, things didn’t work out with him and we will miss him dearly. As a team, we are so happy to welcome Saif.
She further hoped that her pairing with Saif in this film is as loved as their previous outings. We don’t doubt that an ounce, Rani! Good luck for the movie.
