Yash Raj Films recently announced that they are making Bunty Aur Babli 2. The film which will be directed by Varun Sharma will star Siddhant Chaturvedi and debutant Sharvari Wagh in it. While nothing much about the film is known, in an exclusive conversation with us, Siddhant revealed that the film talks about an important subject and is relatable.

Siddhant said,

I didn’t say yes to the film because it was a Yash Raj film, I really loved that script. Because I am an outsider, people would think that I went for the money and doing big banner films, but it is the scripts. While people have their doubts, it is representing the youth. There is a muddah. It is layered; there is a reason why these people con.

He further revealed that he didn’t know how to react when YRF’s casting director, Shanoo Sharma called him.

Honestly, when Shanno (Sharma) called me and told me Bunty Aur Babli 2 is happening, I didn’t know how to react. I am not a firm believer of sequels because I wanted to do something original. I met the director of the film Varun Sharma and I instantly vibed with him. He was a co-writer on Bharat and Sultan and worked under Ali (Abbas Zafar), so his vision was grand. I heard the script and I instantly loved it. I laughed so much while I heard the script, it is genuinely funny. I have heard around 80 scripts and this one was really good.

Even after getting selected for the role, Siddhant recorded a voice over and presented it to Aditya Chopra as an audition.

I wanted to be a part of a script that was a commercial, entertainer and yet had content in it. I said yes, I read the script again, went home and wrote as the character, recorded the voice over and put the background music. Took the sample to Adi Sir (Aditya Chopra) and asked him if he could meet me for 2 minutes. When he met me, I played the voice over and he told me, ‘Dude you’re the first person who is auditioning even after getting the part.’ I told him, ‘Kya karoon sir, itne time se sirf audition hi de raha tha’. I have 4-5 accents in the film with different body languages. I did all of it in that voice over and Adi Sir was like, ‘I am supremely confident that the film is going to be crazy.’ He is a very strong person.

After this, we cannot wait to watch the first glimpse of Bunty Aur Babli 2! What about you?
