’90s Hairstyles That You Can Still Wear In 2020

Eesha Kokane

Aaah the ’90s. Wasn’t it so much simpler back then? Jamming to Spice Girls and collecting happy meal toys was my thing! Besides throwback music and having a questionable toy collection, I also loved flipping through beauty magazines. Coming back to the present, I’ve noticed that a lot of the ’90s trends have made a strong comeback! Hairstyles being one of them, I thought I’d share some of my favourites. So without any further ado, here are a few ’90s hairstyles (that are trendy once again) that you can wear this year:

1. Hair Bun + Face-Framing Tendrils

If you think about it, this ’90s hairstyle is perfect to wear everywhere—dates, work, parties (maybe even the gym). All you have to do is tie your hair into a bun and pull out a few strands of your hair so that they frame your face.

2. High Half-Up Ponytails

You can achieve this hairstyle in 5 minutes or less; it’s that simple. Start with gathering the top half of your hair and tie it up into a ponytail or a braid if you want a more edgy look. Tame any baby hairs with clear mascara or hairspray.

3. Shag Haircut

This haircut is may seem hard to pull off, but with the right amount of layers, it can add volume to your hair and give it a whole new look.

4. The “Rachel” Haircut

Who wasn’t a fan of this iconic hairstyle? Ever since Jennifer Aniston rocked this hair in the first season of F.R.I.E.N.D.S, everyone got the same haircut. If you’ve been wanting to try out something new with your hair, try out this ’90s classic. Good thing lobs are back in trend, amirite?

5. Butterfly Clips

Whenever I see butterfly clips, I think of Jackie Burkhart. These adorable clips are trendy again and you have to give them a try.
