As we all know, Deepika Padukone was smack bang in the middle of promotions for Chhapaak, and man, oh man! Did this lady wow us with some smashing looks. Shaleena Nathani upped the ante by giving DP a healthy rotation of casual and fancy Indian-wear and we thoroughly enjoyed the week that was. Now, one major thing I noticed was that all the tops were matched to their bottoms or one colour stayed dominant throughout, and you probably already recognise this trend and have seen much of it before, but I find it refreshing how Deepika’s looks came together finally and the colours have me wanting to reach for a Popsicle. Here’s taking a look back at all her OOTD’s and how to master the trend of wearing the same colour head-to-toe.

A classic white tee goes a long way when developing your wardrobe, but in the case of DP, a gunjee sure did the work, by being bunched up in a knot at the waist. Those hand-embroidered, flower applique, denims from Ashish are definitely going to be a trend to keep an eye out for in 2020. Of course, this look was paired with a pair of white Nike sneakers. The wavy bob and vintage earrings from Viange Vintage elevated her outfit.

Deepika is nailing not one but two trends with this look, one being the monotone trend and the other being denim on denim. Love the half-tucked in over-sized, tangerine shirt showing off her belt paired with sequined, matching, anti-fit denims and dangly gold chain link earrings to highlight her ensemble. What I absolutely love, was how Shaleena, tied the shoes around the ankle creating a faux cuffed effect on the jeans.

Keeping it traditional but, modern Shaleena opted for Anjul Bhandari’s Lucknowi Chikankari and Kamdani hand-embroidered Salwar in an egg-shell tonality. Love how the design of the salwar accentuates the textures, paired with beige-toned juttis and green pearl drop earrings to offset the monotone — those Sharara style pants definitely make this a twirl-worthy outfit.

Making an impact in head-to-toe pastel pink—Deepika was spotted in paper-bag, trousers with a tucked-in polo, knit. Styled with Deepa Gurnani earrings and strappy, pink, sandals made for a cosy look. This is one feminine and androgynous look that I really enjoyed.

MY favourite look from the week — this Erdem look is just divine. The filigree, floral design on the jacket, compliments the knit, knee-length dress. To tie into the black of the jacket; Shaleena pairs the look with geometric design stockings and black, pointy Louboutin pumps.
