Deepika Padukone‘s been on a roll over the past few weeks promoting her very first movie as actor and producer in Chhapaak. If you’ve been following the promotions closely, then you already know the movie is based on acid attack survivor, Laxmi Agarwal. Deepika plays her as the lead character in this film and has already received several accolades for her role.

Deepika’s been doling out look after look and it looks like there’s much more on the way. Shaleena Nathani styled DP in a head-to-toe mustard, yellow salwar suit from Sabyasachi. This modest look comprises of a boat-neck, sequin, beaded kurta with silk churidar pants and a matching chiffon, beaded dupatta. This look has the right amounts of pizzazz and is perfect for a friend’s mehendi or even as an attendee to a destination wedding.

To match the beading on the kurta, Shaleena paired a pair of Sabyasachi x Christian Louboutin heels and a black, suede, potli bag with gold chain links. Deepika styled her slick, centre-parted, low bun with diamond-encrusted, blue, dangly earrings—gotta love subtle off-sets tones. A brown smokey eye and a matching lip by Sandhya Shekar completed the glam-ethnic look.

Keeping up with her monotone trend, in an all-white ensemble from Fyodor Golan—Deepika wears an oversized, white shirt with a frayed, denim skirt. Here’s where the weirdness takes place—the denim skirt opens up to a billowy, high-low, pleated skirt, the frayed edges make it look unfinished and the high-low skirt just cuts off Deepika’s proportions oddly. Her look is finished out with nude, suede pumps, a chunky, waist belt and gold, coin, hoop earrings. Frankly, there’s just too much going on with this look and it just doesn’t do her body justice. Nevertheless, it looks great in photographs.

Love the messy, back-combed, pony-tail with minimal, soft, copper tones on the lip and eyes. The mascara-heavy lashes look great on DP—and of course, not to mention that gorgeous cheek highlight.

Nothing I love more than spotting a celebrity in Zara… Why you ask?—Well, because I can actually afford to look like some of my celebrity icons then. Nude on nude, Shaleena pairs this neural, monochromatic shirt with pocket-detailing with flared trousers. This look is totally something I’d wear on a safari if I were a celebrity. It’s super chic and streamlined and was paired with animal-print, pointy pumps. Midi rings and a statement, chunky necklace from Misho worn under the shirt collar add to the subtility of this look.

The smokey brown, glittery eye, seems to be a thing of repetition in most of DP’s looks—not that it doesn’t work with her looks, but I wish there was some more experimenting going on. Love, the soft curls though.
