Vijay Deverakonda became a national crush after he starred in Arjun Reddy. His next film, Dear Comrade too was massively loved and appreciated. Ever since then, fans in Bollywood have been waiting to see this talent house in a Hindi film. Recently, news was that Karan Johar will be presenting his next project, Fighter which will be jointly produced by Jagannadh, Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Charmme Kaur. While initial reports stated that Janhvi Kapoor will be a part of it, recently Ananya Panday was roped in to play the female lead. Now, a source exclusively revealed to us why Janhvi couldn’t be a part of the project.

A source said,

Janhvi is a huge Vijay Deverakonda fan. She was super excited to work with him in a film. But Janhvi is a part of Varun Dhawan starrer Mr. Lele. The films dates were clashing with Fighter’s dates due to which Janhvi had to select between the two films.

Janhvi was last seen in Ghost Stories. In 2020, Kapoor has three film releases. While she is currently filming Dostana 2 with Kartik Aaryan and Laksh Lalwani, she has already wrapped up shooting for Roohi Afza and Gunjan Saxena. Coming back to Fighter, it would have been great to see Kapoor and Vijay in a frame together! There’s always a next time.
