Like many of you out there, I was super excited when Karan Johar announced his period drama titled Takht. After all, it is not everyday that a director like Karan Johar decides to work on a magnum opus period drama and sign on the best (yes, trust us when we say, BEST) in the industry to star in it! The period drama based around the Mughal empire stars Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Anil Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, Vicky Kaushal and Janhvi Kapoor, and this sure is one ensemble I cannot wait to witness together on screen!
Just a while ago today, Karan shared a dialogue teaser from the film with it’s release date and damn, I can’t keep calm! The dialogue encompasses what we can expect from the film. The voice says that the way to the throne for the Mughals was always through the path of destruction, but if it were through love, the history of India would have been a lot different. The film is all set to go on floors this march and releases on Christmas 2021.

I think I have got the jackpot. Karan (Johar) is amazing. He was always on my bucket list. The fact that he is trying a period drama and it is an experiment for him too and if he thought that I could do justice to his character is a very big compliment to me. He is one of my most favourite people. I just adore him and I’m very excited for Takht as the cast is fantastic. There some brilliant minds coming together and I can see what Karan is doing for the film. I’m in awe with his vision.
