From being a simple girl from Uttarakhand who was first seen in a Cadbury ad to debuting with M.S.Dhoni: The Untold Story, looks like Disha Patani has finally found her groove with the recently-released Malang. The Mohit Suri directorial has turned the tables for the actress who previously may have been known for her glamorous looks and dance moves but with this, is being appreciated for her acting chops.

When it comes to dishing out some amazing moves in her songs, Disha is a natural and we know it! She has previously impressed us with her moves in Bharat‘s Slow Motion alongside Salman Khan and in the T-Series music video, Befikra with Tiger Shroff. Now, with her outstanding dance to the title song – Hui Main Malang, Disha won hearts everywhere and got a lot of cheer for her shimmer and sizzle in the song. After her debut with M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, she went on to star in Jackie Chan‘s Kung Fu Yoga, Baaghi 2 with Tiger Shroff and Bharat with Salman Khan before kicking ass in Malang.

Coming to her role in the film, Disha plays Sara — the independent, feisty, free-spirited girl who sets out to live her best life. Be it her personality in the film, or the emotions she brings out in certain parts of the film, she certainly brought her A-game to the table. Director Mohit Suri reiterates our thoughts saying that people underestimate what Disha can actually do.

He says:

She is a girl with a lot of substance in her. She needs to look at things more seriously now. The first thing I told her on the last day of shoot was, ‘You have a lot more depth in you than you portray yourself to be. You are a beautiful looking woman, but you could take your acting more seriously.’

Her Malang co-star Aditya Roy Kapur, with whom she shares some great chemistry in the film, adds:

Disha did something really interesting with this character and gave it her everything.

Disha will next be seen in Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai with Salman and will also play the main lead in KTina, directed by Ashima Chibber and produced by Ekta Kapoor.

We sure can’t wait to see her in all these films. More power to you, Disha!
