Anil Kapoor and Sridevi‘s film, Mr India is one of our favourite films. It may have released way before we were born, but it made us laugh and cry and even today it does the same whenever we watch it on the TV. Now, the news is that Tiger Zinda Hai director Ali Abbas Zafar is all set to make a three-part film on the character, Kapoor portrayed. Ali’s Mr India will be set in a new, relevant and contemporary superhero world.
Talking about it, Ali said,
It is a huge responsibility to carry forward an iconic character that has been loved by Indians for so many years. I have just commenced working on the script, no actor has been locked till now, once the first draft of the script is ready, we will begin the casting process. The film involves massive amounts of pre-production and will go on floor early next year.
Shariq Patel from Zee Studios said that this won’t be a remake but a re-imagined classic.
We are excited to have Ali on board for Mr India. This not a ‘part 2’ or a remake of the older film as recently reported in some sections of the media, but a re-imagining of the iconic classic.
This is so damn exciting and it feels like our childhood memories are going to come to life all over again. Can’t wait!
