This might be the most surprising news we’ve got to know about in the past couple of months. Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt‘s first movie together Brahmastra is one of the most talked-about projects coming up this year. The film already stars many other superstars like Amitabh Bachchan, South Indian superstar Nagarjuna and many others.
But according to a report in an online web portal Pinkvilla, even Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone were offered prime roles in the trilogy. While they wouldn’t appear as much in the first part, their characters would play a big role in the second part. What’s more? The report suggested that they were approached to play Ranbir Kapoor’s parents.
Director Ayan Mukherji needed two young actors in their mid-30s to play Ranbir’s parents and had then approached #DeepVeer for the same. Ranbir’s character Shiva loses his parents at a very young age in the film. So, Ranveer and Deepika would have been playing their actual age on screen. If they had agreed to the roles they would’ve had a cameo in Brahmastra part 1 but their backstory would come to light in the 2nd installment. But both DP and RS didn’t end up agreeing to the movie and hence the makers are on the lookout for a new pair to play his parents. This would’ve been the first time we would have seen two of the most popular couples in B-town on screen together.
Brahmastra is slated for release on 4th December 2020.
