Vanessa Bryant read out a heartfelt eulogy at the Los Angeles Staples Center last night. The 37-year old mother and wife spoke about her ‘best friend and 13-year-old daughter, Gigi’ and that despite being her ‘daddy’s girl, she loved her mamma’. She mentioned how her daughter had a ‘smile like sunshine’ and the fact that she was just like her daddy: they both loved helping people out. *pause while I grab some tissues*
Bryant went on to talk about her soulmate of 20 years, Kobe Bryant. The room went quiet as everyone anticipated what Vanessa would say next. She fondly remembered his handmade gifts, deeming him to be the more romantic one in their relationship. She went on the describe their relationship as ‘two perfectly imperfect people building a family and raising their beautiful girls’. Moreover, Vanessa went on to list the many noteworthy events that her husband would sadly not be a part of. The one’s that pulled the strings of my heart the most were their daughters’ weddings or visits to the doctor…
On January 26th, Kobe and Gigi, met with a tragic helicopter accident and passed away with seven others. These include Ara Zobayan, Sarah and Payton Chester, Christina Mauser, and Keri, Alyssa, and John Altobelli.
The memorial service saw a lot of close friends of Kobe attending, including Jennifer Lopez and Jimmy Kimmel to name a few.
