Everyone who knows me knows that I have a sweet tooth and there’s nothing I can do about it! I love a good banoffee pie every now and then, I can gulp down a handful of yummy macarons, and I’m not shy to feast on any of the birthday cakes in the office. But when it comes to finding a good bakery, I’ve often found it quite hard. Especially when I’m travelling to new places, I have a checklist of all the delish places that I must visit! So, when the time came to search for some of the best bakeries in New York City, I got down to research.

In an article published by Buzzfeed, they mentioned that on asking Yelp for the most popular bakeries in every state, they measured using an algorithm that looked at the number of reviews plus the star rating for every bakery on Yelp. And they did this for each of the 50 states in The United States.

In the state of New York, according to customers reviews, New York City has the best bakery and it’s called Aux Merveilleux.

Store Name: Aux Merveilleux de Fred

The famous French bakery has found its home in NYC. The founder, Frédéric Vaucamps has perfected the classic Merveilleux recipe. It is meringue coated in chocolate whipped cream covered with shavings of dark chocolate. His secret is an inimitable melt-in-the-mouth meringue which gives a lightness and finesse to this cake.

I am going to give this chic bakery a shot the next time I hit up the Big Apple!

What’s best is that brunching here would not burn a hole in your pocket (which is extremely important while choosing a place in New York, TBH!).
