Director Shashank Khaitan brought us some sad news today when he announced that his next film starring Varun Dhawan in the lead, Mr Lele, has been put on hold due to date issues.

The director took to his Instagram to inform fans about the news and said that he, Varun and producer Karan Johar mutually decided to push the film for after because scheduling was getting very tough. He expresses his concern about its delay and says that he will collaborate with Varun again soon, apart from Mr Lele saying. He adds that collaborating with his Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya actor has always been the most amazing experience for him.

Varun was set to play a Maharashtrian guy in this comic-thriller. It was also going to star Janhvi Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar in lead roles opposite him.

Here is his post:

This is sad news! We really liked the poster when it came out with Varun in a very interesting look. We hope to see them come together for a film soon!

On the work front, Varun has Coolie No. 1 opposite Sara Ali Khan, directed by his father David Dhawan.
