Music is one of the ways I find refuge during hard times. I have a playlist for, possibly, every single situation. You name it, I’ve curated it: heartbreak, first love, first job, rainy days, etc… So, the other day, I was listening to some classic songs and noticed how they all had iconic opening lyrics and first liners. Hence, that gave me an idea—why not compile them all together! And that’s exactly what I did. Enjoy!
Just a small-town girl, living in a lonely world
You are my fire, my one desire
At first I was afraid, I was petrified
When I wake up yeah I know I’m gonna be, I’m gonna be the man who wakes up next to you
Making my way downtown, walking fast, faces pass and I’m home bound
My lover’s got humour, she’s the giggle at a funeral
Do I attract you, do I repulse you, with my queasy smile
It’s a little bit funny, this feeling inside
Enna sons kyun rabb ne banaya
Orey manvya tu to bavra hain, tu hi jaane tu kya sochta hain
Kaise teri khudgarzi, na dhoop chune na chaaon
Kyun chalti hai pavan, kyun jhume hai gagan, kyun machalta hai mann, na tum jano na hum
Tu jo rootha, toh kaun hasega, tu jo choota, toh kaun rahega
Na hai yeh pana, na khona he hai, tera na hona, jaane, kyun hona he hai
Lag ja gale ki phir ye haseen raat ho na ho, shaayad phir is janam mein mulaqaat ho na ho
Aren’t these lyrics absolutely heartwarming? I love them! Which one is your favourite?
