4 Reasons Irrfan Khan & Radhika Madan Starrer Angrezi Medium Is A Must-Watch

Pallavi Manoj

Irrfan Khan‘s 2017 movie Hindi Medium had left all of us in splits. And ever since the second installment of the movie had been announced, all cine-goers have been super excited. If you’ve seen the trailer of Angrezi Medium, you know that you’re going to get a fair share of laughs, teary-eyed moments and so much more from this film. Directed by Homi Adajania and produced by Jio Studios, here are 4  reasons you should put this on your watch-list:

The Brilliant Star Cast

Let’s start with Irrfan, shall we? Irrfan’s last outing at the movies was with South Indian heartthrob Dulquer Salmaan for the road trip movie called Karwaan. Owing to his health, we’ve had to wait for almost 2 years to see him again. And let me tell you, he’s worth the wait. It’s genuinely a gift as to how deeply he gets into his character of a concerned single father. His dialogue delivery, as usual, makes us question whether these were actually scripted. Because he’s so natural.
Then comes, Deepak Dobriyal another underrated actor who has done a brilliant job. The combination of Irrfan and Deepak on-screen is a delight to watch. Add to this mix, an actress with star power and exceptional acting skills – Kareena Kapoor Khan. This is the first time she is seen opposite Irrfan and their unlikely and endearing back and forth in the movie is one of the main reasons to look forward to this entertainer. Last but definitely not the least, Radhika Madan, from TV to movies Radhika has been extremely choosy with her projects and for good reason too. She’s a breath of fresh air and delivers the excitement, anguish, and the confusion that a teenager feels.

A Gamut of Relationships

Angrezi Medium is all about showcasing the different kinds of relationships and bonds we form in our lives. The central theme of the film revolves around the father-daughter connection between Irrfan and Radhika’ s characters. And while that seems to have been depicted beautifully by filmmaker Homi Adajania, other relationships like the one between brothers, mothers and daughters and even the one between strangers on foreign land, define the film and its emotions.

The Issue Of Education

When the film Hindi Medium released, the film steadily went on to touch the hearts of masses. The humour, the performances and the message all made for an irresistible combo. Taking the franchise forward, Angrezi Medium reiterates on the topic of education with a lot of hilarity and surprises in store. This reveals the problem faced by desi parents to provide for their children with dreams of studying abroad. This is a film that any Indian who has studied abroad can relate to. Change of accent, working part-time and many more such instances that desi kids have faced while in a foreign country are amazingly depicted.

A Film For The Family

In this time of strong, content-driven cinema, Bollywood has seen less of an out and out family entertainer. There are a handful of movies that makes a family laugh and cry. Angrezi Medium is a certified family film that’s sure to make you relate with many of its characters, laugh at their antics and cry in many instances. It’s a movie to enjoy with your fam-jam.
