Let’s be honest, after watching the hit Netflix original Set It Up; we’ve all been crushing on Zoey Deutch. Her cheerful and quirky personality seems to have won everyone over, myself included. That’s why, when I came across a video by Vogue on YouTube that featured her, I instantly clicked on it. Beauty Secrets is a fun video series by Vogue, where we get to see our favourite celebs do their skincare and makeup routines. Zoey recently featured in this series in their latest video, and I got to learn a lot! If you missed this video or you want a quick recap, here’s what her beauty routine looked like:

Skincare Routine

In the video, Zoey mentioned that she has been battling with hormonal acne ever since she was fifteen. So, her skincare routine included products that suited her acne-prone skin, and she used a combination of products to depuff, treat and hydrate her skin simultaneously. Here’s what her skincare routine looked like:

  • Before jumping into the routine, Zoey used a facial tool known as “freeze tools” to help depuff her skin. They were globes of steel which are supposed to be kept in the fridge overnight and meant to be used the next morning to depuff your skin.
  • After depuffing, Zoey proceeds to wash her face with a gel-based cleanser and follows it up with an antibiotic wipe to make sure her skin is thoroughly clean.
  • When it comes to moisturising, Zoey claims that most moisturisers make her break out. That’s why she sticks to a few select ones that work for her skin. I also noticed that she uses a different moisturiser for the top half of her face and the bottom half of her face. This is because her chin is more prone to breakouts.

Makeup Routine:

After her skincare routine is done, Zoey shows us what makeup products she uses for her acne-prone skin. From non-comedogenic foundations to her all-time favourite eyeshadow shade, she tells us everything. Here are some of the details of her makeup routine:

  • Zoey mentioned that the only foundation that works for her skin the SUQQU Extra Rich Cream Foundation. It’s non-comedogenic, hence, suitable for people with acne.
  • Zoey’s all-time favourite eyeshadow palette is Maybelline‘s Expert Wear Eyeshadow. She can’t get enough of the “crease” colour, and she even admitted that she bought a dozen of them before the company discontinued them.
  • One of the most important steps in Zoey’s makeup routine is mascara. She highly encourages people to ditch their waterproof mascara because it causes a lot of damage.
