I’ve never been more grateful and saturated at the same time. I’m experiencing a mixed bag of emotions and I’m exhausted from just having these feelings. Of course, I’m happy I have a job and something that keeps me busy from the luxury of my home. Yes, I am also privileged to be experiencing these emotions, but it’s a hard space and I can’t dismiss these feelings either. Anyway, I’ve had moments of just sitting around twiddling my thumbs and daydreaming of my day of freedom from this lockdown. I bet all of you have made a list of things you can’t wait to do once you’re able to start going out.

And while I’ve been daydreaming I made a teeny tiny listicle of things I’ve been terribly missing during this quarantine. Things that I can’t wait to action once I have the ability to. Scroll on to see my list.

Here’s a look at the 5 things I can’t wait to do once lockdown ends:

1) Grab sushi and some beer

Nothing I’ve missed more than sharing some delicious sushi and a few beers with my mates. Yes, course I can go to sushi alone and by myself but there is joy in ordering a whole lot of different varieties for the table and sharing them with your loved ones. Pretty sure I’m either going to end up at Izumi or Blue’s Kitchen in Bandra once lockdown ends.

2) Go camping with my boyfriend

I’ve been quarantined with my favourite person in the world, so thankfully I haven’t had to miss him. But I guess we’ve just been going a bit stir crazy locked up in the house. The other day while chilling on the balcony in the middle of the night he turns to me and says, “Listen as soon as lockdown ends you and me are going to go back to Moonstone Hammock, alone if we have to please.” He then proceeds to say, I really can’t wait to take a dunk in a pool.

3) Hangout with my office colleagues

The one thing I’ve appreciated most during this lockdown is my office colleagues. I wasn’t aware of the impact they had on me or seeing them every day. I’m an introvert so being around humans, in general, is draining on me. But I really do miss sharing space with all these humans and seeing them in their bright and shiny office clothes too. Now I just witness them on Zoom calls in their PJ’s.

4) Go shopping at a mall

I don’t really need anything tbh but I do miss having the option of walking into a mall just to browse. I’m a fashion girl, it’s in my DNA to at least buy one basic black t-shirt every month and I really miss buying things that make me feel happy. Yes, mom I know I don’t need material things to feel happy but I want them. Can’t wait to complain about crowded spaces all over again as soon as this quarantine ends.

5) Get a mani-pedi and a hair wash

Everyone who knows me knows that hair washing is a sacrosanct activity and my world literally revolves around this task. I’ve had this quick ritual for a while, to pop by the salon outside of work and get my beauty fix. I’d regularly get a hair wash because I can’t commit to the life of waking up early to each my hair for an hour. I just felt like I was wasting my time and frankly, I really enjoyed this indulgence of mine. Whereas a monthly mani-pedi would suffice. I definitely miss this most while being in lockdown.

6) Take a short trip to Goa

This one has been on my list for the longest time and for whatever reason, it just doesn’t come to fruition. But this time I’m going to make it happen. A quick and simple plan and I’m going to be off to a nice serene beach. I’m definitely not the travel alone kinds so I’m going to rope the boyfriend into this one too. Not that he would mind, I know he wants to take a beach break too once lockdown ends.
