Ayushmann Khurrana is one of the most celebrated actors that’s created a space and name of his own in the Hindi film industry. Like few before him, Ayushmann comes from various different backgrounds like radio, TV, and finally the big screen. And the actor recently revealed while all may have seemed rosy on the surface, he has had his fair share of struggles as well. In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, the actor revealed his casting couch experience in his early days.
A casting director had told me, ‘I’ll give you the lead role if you showed me your tool.’ I told him I’m straight and I politely refused his offer.
The actor recalled his initial days in the industry while he used to audition for roles. He revealed that he was asked to leave from many places because he questioned the process.
Initially, there used to be auditions where they would take your solo test. Then suddenly, the number started increasing and there would be 50 people in the same room. When I protested, they asked me to leave. So I have faced rejections.
Ayushmann whose debut film Vicky Donor was a huge hit, faced many lows right after that. But in the past two or three years, he’s been one of the most sought after actors in the industry. He also spoke about how facing failures so early on his career prepared him to face lows in the present and he is better able to handle it now. Ayushmann’s latest release was Shubh Mangal Zyaada Savdhaan.
