So you’re stuck at home… You’ve finished binge-watching your favourite show, your book and jigsaw puzzle, so now what? Well, it’s time to get to DIY your way through these quarantine days. Tie-Dye clothing made its comeback in 2019. But it wasn’t until the COVID-19 lockdown that people actually busted out their colour-filled, rainbow bests and took their OOTD selfies. But not everyone and every brand’s ecom sites works and delivers, especially to the ones residing in the orange and red zones. For a few, getting their hands on a tie-dye set or tee might be difficult, so DIY tie-dye became the newest at-home activity during quarantine.

Right now Instagram is flooded with influencers turning their basic black and white tees to a colourful masterpiece. But what is it about tie-dye that makes people love wearing it (especially during quarantine) so damn much? Well, I think it’s the sheer fact that not only is it ideal to just wear something super basic and comfy during this time at home but the variety of colours really help bring some sort of “vibrancy” to our now, “normal” days in quarantine. Check out some of the different tie-dye styles we spotted…

The really really colourful sets…

The darker and more faded sets…

A mix of the darker and lighter colours…

But it’s not just the Instagram influencers and community who have been tie-dying their time away… Platforms like YouTube and TikTok are also showing off their DIY tie-dyes.
