It’s been a long period of over 2 months since the dark and unforgiving cloud of coronavirus has been looming over us. With all shoots put on standby, the actors, directors and film crew have been anxiously waiting for the government to give them orders as to when can they resume their work on field. In the midst of this quandary, actor Akshay Kumar and director R. Balki have united once again to shoot for an advertisement campaign. The ad campaign is regarding the “post lockdown responsibilities” for the industry folk and took place at Kamalistan studio with strict protocols.
The Padman director stated that the advertisement was for the Health Ministry. And the team took care of all the mandatory precautions, including donning masks and working with minimal crew.
This is an ad for the health ministry featuring Akshay Kumar about the post lockdown responsibilities of each one of us. We need to get back to work but ensure our safety and those of others. So at our shoot we did the same.
Like getting back to work with social distancing, sanitised outdoor set, disinfectant screen, masks. We got used to it in a few minutes. There was minimal crew and very strict protocols.

@fwicemum would like to clarify that regular shootings have not started yet & will not start till proper guidelines by film associations in consultation with the Govt. Is not formed. @akshaykumar ji & R.Balki were shooting for a small Govts. promotional film Which is based on drinking water & Sanitation. We are clarifying this because we received lots of calls from the Industry & media for clarifications . A proper police permission has been obtained and submitted at the Federation & the shooting was held with all precautions. 📷 @peeping.moon #viralbhayani @viralbhayani
The director also stated that the crew noticed that shooting can be done “quite easily” following all the guidelines. He also said, “Anil Naidu, the producer, showed us how we can do the same shoot with fewer people with maximum safety ensured. Of course, we had all the permissions of police etc. We needed to do this as this messaging was extremely important”.
As seen in the pictures doing rounds from the studio, the crew had to go through a disinfection tunnel. They were also equipped with essentials like masks, face shields and had their temperature checked by medical personnels in PPE suits.
Before the nationwide lockdown, Akshay was all set for the release of his film directed by Rohit Shetty, Sooryavanshi. Owing to the current situation, the release of the film has been pushed indefinitely until things get better.
